UPDATES: Shipping Updates, Naming Contest, New STL Deliveries!
almost 3 years ago – Tue, Jul 13, 2021 at 01:15:12 PM

Hey there Dungeoneers!

I've got updates aplenty for you again, today! Before I begin, I want to personally thank you all for taking the time to read my missives from HQ as we navigate the continued disruptions related to Covid and its impacts on global supply chains. It's a wild ride that is changing drastically from week to week, and even day to day, so your patience and support means the world to us.

SHIPPING UPDATE:

On that front, we got some good news/meh news: our machinery is officially OFF the boat (!!!), but it's currently sitting in Long Beach awaiting a truck at the port. For those of you who are keeping tabs alongside me: yes, that means our equipment was taken off the boat almost two weeks ago and we weren't notified until today. I've just been anxiously watching a ship's tracker icon moored offshore from Oakland for a week for no reason... 🥴

Our forwarding company hasn't been able to provide us an ETA for when a truck will arrive to pick our shipment up, or how long it will take for that truck to make it to the Seattle Metro area, which is frustrating, but not unusual at this current time. The ports are just pure chaos right now, unfortunately. For those of you who are of the newsy type (like myself) who is interested in the "why" behind stuff like this, there's a great article that NPR published detailing the current situation.

Additionally, Kickstarter recently added a new feature for tracking reward status that I implemented today! Resin reward tiers now reflect "Delayed", while we await our materials' arrival. Once manufacturing is finally under way then shipped, I will update resin orders accordingly (Delayed --> In Progress --> Shipped). All STL only backers have been fulfilled by our count (woohoo!), and therefore reflect "Shipped" in their status. Of course, if you believe you may have slipped through my spreadsheet tracking, please contact us via email for assistance at [email protected]

STL DELIVERY UPDATE:

Great news! We FINALLY have the TSATHOGGUA THE GOD-TOAD and TROLL BRIDGE STLs complete, pre-supported, and ready to deliver! Those MMF invites will go out to backers as soon as the files are approved on the platform, no action required on the backers' end. Check out the sculpts below!

AND FINALLY: THE NAME THE MACHINE CONTEST!

You guys are seriously the BEST. We managed to secure over 100 submissions to name our incoming manufacturing equipment, and y'all are really creative! The next stage requires our team to choose the top 16 to enter the first community voting bracket and receive free minis. I'll have a new form set up shortly to announce the finalists and kick off the vote!

As always, if you have any questions/concerns, hit me up at [email protected]!

All my best,

- Hanna + The BAM Team

UPDATE: Ocean Freight Delays and New Sculpts Edition
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jun 02, 2021 at 10:01:01 PM

Hey there, Dungeoneers!

The whole team here at BAM HQ hope you've all been enjoying a similar change in the weather as we have here in the Pacific Northwest. We're seriously enjoying the return of some summertime sun and cool breezes after such a rough winter. ☀️🌷🍃🍧

I have some updates to share with you all on a few fronts!

First, the less than ideal news. The special equipment we were able to purchase--thanks to all of your generous support--ended up stuck dockside in Spain. That critical piece of equipment successfully passed through customs but did not get on a boat as planned. Remember that global shipping container shortage we mentioned in previous updates? It is unfortunately getting worse before it gets better.  Our shipment was scheduled to arrive over three weeks ago originally, but was bumped from the first boat, then a second boat, and a third...

To make a long complicated story short(ish): not only are there currently too few shipping containers to meet global demand as the world economy starts trying to kick back into high gear, our forwarder has told us that any ocean freight shipment that doesn't contain lumber or steel are getting bumped. Those commodities are in short supply now as well, and the additional strain on the global shipping supply chain means little guys like us have to wait for the stars to align to get our freight on its way. Truly frustrating all around.

But! We now have official confirmation from our forwarder that it FINALLY made it onto a boat heading to the US. Now it will be a matter of seeing what kind of port traffic that ship encounters here stateside (its nuts out there),  and how long it will take for the machine to clear customs here in the US before getting on a truck to our shop.

In the meantime, we're working to have all the other components of the resin rewards (packaging, mold design, fulfillment systems) all ready to go so we can hit the ground running casting up a storm as soon as we have what we need here at HQ. If our equipment arrives within the next three weeks as currently planned, there was still a slim chance we'd be able to ship the first batch of resin rewards at the end of June. However, we want to just set the expectation now that we likely won't start shipping in earnest until August due to the supply chain breakdowns we are currently experiencing. We'd rather not rush ourselves and potentially compromise our quality to hit that initial deadline. Y'all deserve top notch minis for your patience, after all!

We're actively tracking our boat as it transits the Atlantic, and as soon as it lands here at the shop, I'll post an update with photos for y'all! We'll be planning our first livestreams around its arrival too. We've got big plans for that machine and we're excited to share more about it when the time is right. Perhaps a community naming contest is in order, ala Boaty McBoatface? 😉

On a more upbeat note, TSATHOGGUA THE GOD-TOAD and the TROLL BRIDGE STLs sculpts are now complete! I am unfortunately having some difficulty posting my images through the KS image uploader at the moment, but I'll have a new update with them as soon as the KS interface cooperates. Note: STL Backers will have these sculpts automatically added to their MMF libraries as soon as we've completed support testing to ensure reliability.

Sending you all our best! ✨❤️✨

UPDATE: STL Deliveries are now 90%+ Complete! Resin Coming Soon!
about 3 years ago – Fri, Apr 16, 2021 at 12:50:28 AM

Hey there Dungeoneers!

What a crazy few weeks it's been! The team and I really appreciate everyone's patience as we've sorted through support tickets and navigated a variety of technical snags delivering those STLS along the way. There are a lot of moving parts to fulfillment on this project that have challenged us, but have also been great learning experiences to take with us into the future on our continuing endeavors!

I want to take this opportunity to follow up on the current status of fulfillment as of today:

  •  STL REWARDS: As of today, all currently eligible STL backers have now received their links to their files on MyMiniFactory, with the exception of TSATHOGGUA THE GOD-TOAD STL and TROLL BRIDGE TERRAIN SET STLs. As stated previously, they will be automatically added to MMF Collections when they're complete and ready for printing. No need to do anything extra! We'll post an update when they go live to notify everyone. If you have not received your links, please follow the instructions in the pinned Update to retrieve and complete your survey--there are still 100+ folks who are still in limbo! If you definitely completed your survey, but still can't find your files, email us at [email protected] for additional assistance.

  •  RESIN REWARDS: Resin rewards are in progress! We've been working on the masters and mold design to prep for the big production push currently scheduled for May. We're just waiting on some very special resin casting equipment to arrive from overseas that your generous support has helped us acquire! Once the machine arrives and we've got it running, we'll start doing some livestreams where you can watch us make your minis and chat about life at BAM. Right now we're battling the current disruptions and delays in international ocean freight shipping (Thanks Covid + Evergiven), but even with the delays, we're still on track to start shipping Resin by our posted goal of end of June. We'll keep you in the loop if anything changes though, of course.

SIDE NOTE: When I checked ten minutes ago, only 2 remaining spots of 400 are left for the deepest discount tier on Broken Anvil Monthly! If you've been on the fence, looks like it's your last chance to snag a big discount before they're gone! 🏃💨

Thanks folks! Hope you're having a lovely start to spring. :)
